The Deserts regions are vast and contrasting with arid, barren lands to carpets of wildflowers and deserts waterfalls. Each region has its own character so whether its star gazing in Red Rock Canyon or going 86 metres below sea level in Death Valley you have to choose wisely
There is plenty of civilization on offer in the deserts also particularly around Palm Springs area which is home to the Hollywood rich and famous when they want to escape Tinseltown.
The deserts offer stunning natural landscapes and spa and golf resorts and are well worth a visit when in California.
For more information go to Visit California for advice on which desert parks will suit you. Let us know your interests and we can put together a programme that will show you what each of the Deserts regions have to offer.
Things to do in the Deserts
Joshua National Park – Home of the famous Joshua Tree as well as rock climbers as the terrain is very challenging in parts.
Death Valley – Not as bad as it sounds, trust us! Lowest point in western hemisphere that has had highest recorded temperature at 56 degrees. We recommend to stay at Furnace Creek for a touch of luxury at 214 ft below sea level.Back
